A grand golf tournament for police officers was organized at Lahore Gymkhana Club, Lahore, in which police golfer players from across the country including Lahore, Quetta, Karachi and Islamabad participated enthusiastically. Patron Pakistan Police Golf Team DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan was the organizer of the tournament. In the tournament, professional, amateur category, retired and serving players of Pakistan Police demonstrated excellent performance. At the conclusion of the tournament, commendation certificates, shields and prizes were distributed among the players who showed outstanding performance.
On this occasion, DIG Suleman Sultan Rana said that organizing positive activities like golf significantly enhances the sports abilities of police officers. He said that golf is a difficult sport; however, police players played it in an excellent manner. Suleman Sultan Rana further said that police players are also showing outstanding performance in national and inter-provincial golf events.
Punjab Police will continue full patronage and encouragement of golf players just like other sports categories. Retired IGs Chaudhry Yaqoob, Shoukat Javed, Tariq Khosa, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, retired DIGs Pervez Rahim Rajput and Chaudhry Tasadduq participated in the tournament. CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Additional IG Wasim Sial and DIG Athar Ismail Amjad also attended. From Karachi Police SSP Ghulam Murtaza, from Islamabad Police Abdul Haq Umrani, while from Quetta Police Shahid Parvaiz, Shahzaib, Atta Muhammad, Muhammad Amir and Asif Khan participated. Among police women players, Shehzadi Gulfam and Riffat Hanif also took part in the tournament. Other prominent golfers included Muhammad Javeed, Manzoor Ahmad, Asghar Ali, Mubeen, Jamsheed, Shahbaz, Babar and Patras Masih among other players.
