
ISLAMABAD — Shehbaz Sharif has assured Iran leadership that Pakistan will continue to play a constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability amid rising tensions in the Gulf.

The prime minister conveyed these remarks during a telephone conversation with Masoud Pezeshkian, during which both leaders exchanged greetings on the occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz. President Pezeshkian reciprocated warmly, extending his best wishes to the people of Pakistan.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed solidarity with the people of Iran in light of the ongoing regional tensions. He conveyed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured and affected by the situation.
Highlighting the seriousness of the evolving crisis in the Gulf, the prime minister underscored the urgent need for de-escalation and restraint. He emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy must take precedence to prevent further deterioration of the security environment.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that disputes should be resolved through peaceful means, stressing that confrontation would only exacerbate instability in an already volatile region. He called on all parties to return to negotiations and work toward lasting solutions.
The prime minister also highlighted the importance of unity among Muslim countries during challenging times. He noted that strengthened cooperation and solidarity within the Muslim Ummah were essential to address shared challenges and promote collective well-being.
