Pakistan skilled workers get 10,500 Italy visas

Published on: February 25, 2026 8:30 PM

Italy will issue 10,500 work visas for Pakistan’s skilled labor force, confirmed the Italian Interior Minister. The announcement follows a meeting between Pakistan’s Mohsin Naqvi and his Italian counterpart during an official visit. The move aims to facilitate legal employment opportunities and strengthen bilateral labor ties.

During the meeting, Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s strict measures against illegal immigration. He emphasized the government’s efforts to combat human trafficking and drug smuggling. The Italian minister praised Pakistan’s success in preventing illegal migration and applauded its effective enforcement initiatives.

Under the agreement, Pakistani diplomats holding valid passports will be exempted from visa requirements. The visas will prioritize skilled workers across multiple sectors in Italy. The arrangement reflects growing cooperation between Pakistan and Italy on labor mobility, migration management, and economic collaboration.

Italy’s move is expected to provide employment opportunities, enhance skills transfer, and promote legal migration channels. Officials said the initiative will also benefit both nations economically and socially.
