Activists mount Andrew image in Paris museum

Published on: February 23, 2026 10:45 PM

A photograph of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor taken after his arrest on Thursday was temporarily hung in the Louvre on Sunday. Anti-billionaire activist group Everyone Hates Elon mounted the image on a gallery wall for about an hour to make a public statement.

The group shared a message saying, “They say: ‘Hang it in the Louvre’. So we did,” intending to show the former prince how history will remember him. The photo showed Andrew reclined in a vehicle after being released under investigation from a Norfolk police station.

Accompanying the image was a caption referencing a 2019 BBC interview, stating “He’s Sweating Now,” recalling Andrew’s defense of a peculiar medical condition that prevented him from sweating. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to allegations of sexual abuse.

Everyone Hates Elon previously gained attention for displaying a photo of Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein outside Windsor Castle. The Louvre declined to comment on the latest installation, which activists filmed and shared on social media. The display sparked widespread online discussion about activism, royal accountability, and public memory.

The temporary gallery installation underscores growing public scrutiny of royals and high-profile figures, blending protest with art to make statements on morality and accountability. The stunt is likely to inspire similar displays in the future as activist groups continue leveraging public spaces.
