Pakistan and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in counter-terrorism and economic engagement during a high-level meeting in Islamabad.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with US Deputy Secretary of State John Mark Pommersheim, with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker also participating. The discussions focused on security, investment, and regional stability, affecting policymakers, businesses, and citizens.
Both sides highlighted ongoing collaboration to address terrorism and strengthen coordination on emerging security threats. The US acknowledged Pakistan’s partnership in preventing illegal migration and recognized Islamabad’s contributions to regional security. Interior Minister Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s role in providing a safe environment for citizens and foreign businesses alike. Kapoor underscored that joint counter-terrorism initiatives help Pakistan address internal and cross-border threats more effectively. The partnership has received repeated recognition from senior US officials, including President Donald Trump.
