KARACHI — The Sindh Education Department has scheduled matriculation exams to begin on March 31 and intermediate exams on April 15 across the province. Matric results will be announced on June 1, while intermediate results are expected by June 15.
The decision was approved by the Steering Committee chaired by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah. Exams for classes IX and X will start after Eid, followed by intermediate examinations with a 15-day gap. The new academic session for 2026–27 will begin on April 1.

The implementation of the Uniform Examination Syllabus has been postponed. The syllabus will now be enforced for classes IX and X starting from the 2027 annual examinations, the committee said. No changes were made to the summer or winter holiday schedules.
Summer vacations will run from June 1 to July 31, while winter holidays remain December 22 to December 31. A review of winter vacations may be considered in April, though Cambridge school representatives opposed changes, citing international academic calendars.

The committee also noted that winter intensity in Karachi and across Sindh peaks in January, which has previously prompted adjustments to school timings. Officials said no immediate changes to vacation schedules are planned unless circumstances require them.
