Commissioner review polio vaccination drive in Sakrand

Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division, Shahmir Khan Bhutto, paid a surprise visit to taluka Hospital Sakrand and several polio fixed and transit points in Taluka Sakrand, district Shaheed Benazirabad, on the first day of the 7-day National Anti-Polio Campaign,

During visit, Commissioner reviewed the performance of polio teams, house markings, administration of polio drops to children, and the finger-marking process. He met field polio teams and checked their attendance, availability of vaccines, and maintenance of records. Commissioner also interacted with parents to confirm that children were administered polio drops.

On the occasion, Commissioner directed polio teams to ensure that no child is deprived of polio vaccination during the ongoing campaign and emphasized achieving 100 percent coverage. He said that polio is a dangerous disease, and its complete eradication requires collective efforts from parents, Health Department, and the district administration.

He urged field staff to perform their duties with full responsibility and integrity and to avoid any negligence during campaign so that better results could be achieved and children could be protected from lifelong disability. During visit Commissioner also inspected various departments of Taluka Hospital Sakrand and instructed doctors to provide improved medical care and facilities to patients.

Later, he reviewed the administration of polio drops to children of passengers at transit points and directed the concerned officers and polio teams to pay special attention to highways, bus terminals, and other key locations to ensure that no child remains unvaccinated during travel.

He expressed his commitment to utilizing all available resources to maintain polio-free status of Shaheed Benazirabad Division.
