Nawaz Sharif reviews Data Darbar expansion project

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Sunday visited the holy shrine of Sufi saint Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Hajveri (Data Darbar) to review the renovation and expansion of the the sacred site.

The former prime minister said that it is a national responsibility to serve the devotees who visit the shrine.

He said that the provision of maximum facilities for visitors-including security, cleanliness, and ease of access-remains among the government’s top priorities.

Nawaz Sharif added that all possible resources are being utilized to preserve the sanctity, historical heritage, and spiritual environment of Data Darbar.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was also accompanying Nawaz Sharif during the visit.

PML-N president said that millions of devotees from across the country and abroad visit Data Darbar every year, and the government is committed to providing modern facilities while fully safeguarding the shrine’s religious and cultural significance. Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar also offered Fateha and showered flowers at the shrine. They also prayed for peace, security, prosperity, and stability of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar termed the Data Darbar expansion a historic and important initiative aimed at facilitating millions of devotees.

He said that such projects reflect the government’s vision of preserving religious heritage while providing improved and modern services to the public. Auqaf Secretary Ehsan Bhutta gave a detailed briefing to Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar on the expansion project and the latest progress of ongoing development works at Data Darbar. The former prime minister and the deputy prime minister expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of the work and appreciated the performance of the Auqaf department.
