
ISLAMABAD – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has praised Pakistan’s economic reforms led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva highlighted the government’s progress in budget discipline and development initiatives. She said the reforms are showing positive results for the country and its people.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Georgieva said she highly respects Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. She added that he is serious about change and completes the goals he sets. She also noted that his cabinet is committed to implementing difficult reforms for Pakistan’s betterment.

Georgieva explained that the IMF has worked closely with Pakistan for many years. She emphasized that the government is now taking concrete actions to implement reforms effectively. These efforts, she said, are helping improve Pakistan’s economy and public services.
“The government’s actions are beginning to bear fruit,” Georgieva stated. She added that for the first time, budgetary discipline has been visible. Resources are now being spent on initiatives that positively impact citizens’ daily lives.
