CM Bugti made the remarks on his X account after chairing a provincial cabinet meeting. “Various people only played politics on the issue of missing persons, blamed the state, and tried to get votes. We have resolved it for the first time,” he wrote. He added that law enforcement agencies now have a legal framework to investigate suspects and that the state can no longer be blamed for missing individuals.

A spokesperson for the Balochistan government said that suspects will be interrogated at authorised centres under police supervision, with family members allowed to meet them during the process.
The provincial cabinet also approved several administrative and policy measures. Two new divisions, Pishin and Koh-e-Suleiman, have been created to improve governance, while Ziarat will now fall administratively under Loralai. Additionally, a Municipal Committee Karbala was approved in Pishin district, and a policy for evaluating law officers was finalised.
In a child protection move, the cabinet decided that no child under 16 will be subjected to forced labor. The government also approved a policy to verify educational documents of contract teachers. The chief minister’s inspection team will oversee degree verifications, and FIRs will be registered against individuals found holding fake qualifications, starting in Nasirabad and Dera Bugti.
