This move aligns with WhatsApp’s broader strategy to make its web version nearly identical to mobile and desktop platforms, allowing seamless switching between devices without losing access to core communication tools.
Currently, WhatsApp Web supports only one-on-one voice and video calls, but the company is actively extending this capability to group chats following strong and consistent user demand.

Once launched, users are expected to start group calls from chat windows, receive call notifications, and join ongoing conversations easily, especially useful on shared or restricted computers.
In terms of capacity, WhatsApp Web may eventually support up to 32 participants per group call, though the company could introduce smaller limits initially to ensure stability and call quality.
