Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has urged PSL franchises to raise player salaries. He recommended boosting compensation after teams’ market values increased. Naqvi also suggested giving players a draft-style auction to benefit from competitive selection.
Sources said Naqvi made the recommendations during the PSL Governing Council meeting. He emphasized that players should get opportunities similar to franchises, including fair chances for new teams. The idea aims to ensure equitable player distribution and improved earnings.

The chairman proposed that PSL 11 include a player auction, allowing teams to pick players freely. He highlighted that this approach would maximize player benefits and encourage talent development. Teams were also advised to maintain fairness between old and new franchises.
The meeting welcomed two new PSL franchises and congratulated all owners on the successful auction. Naqvi emphasized that new teams should have equal opportunities to select players, ensuring balanced competition. Discussions over player retention by older franchises may continue in the working committee.
