Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Friday reiterated that a consensus-based policy, formulated through broad consultation with all stakeholders, is the only viable path toward lasting and sustainable peace in the region.
The Chief Minister expressed these views during his visit to Tirah Valley in Khyber district. He emphasized that any negligence in addressing the problems of the people of Tirah would be unacceptable. He directed all relevant departments to adopt emergency measures to immediately alleviate the hardships faced by the residents of Tirah.
Chief Minister ordered an establishment of additional NADRA offices on an emergency basis to expedite registration process.
Reaffirming his commitment to peace and development, Sohail Afridi said that his government aims to bring peace through education.
CM said he fully understands and shares the pain of his people, adding that his government raised its voice for peace from the very first day.
The Chief Minister instructed the District Police Officer (DPO) and district administration to ensure that people are not subjected to unnecessary stoppages or inconvenience. He also called for a review of existing policies to ensure durable peace in the region.
He assured the people that the protection and dignity of the affectees is his direct responsibility and emphasized that the people of Tirah Valley will not be left alone.
