During the upcoming round, the two foreign ministers are also expected to announce a series of initiatives and commemorative activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The milestone is being seen as an opportunity to reaffirm long-standing ties and outline future areas of collaboration.

The Foreign Office said Dar’s visit forms an important part of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries. It reflects their shared determination to further broaden and deepen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, while reiterating a mutual commitment to regional peace, stability, and sustainable development.

While the FO did not specify the exact duration of the visit, China’s foreign ministry confirmed that Ishaq Dar will be in Beijing from January 3 to 6, 2026. During this period, meetings are expected to cover political, economic, and strategic dimensions of the bilateral relationship.

The previous, sixth round of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue was held in Islamabad in August this year. During that visit, Wang Yi met with Dar, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and President Asif Ali Zardari, and reiterated China’s support for Pakistan’s efforts toward regional stability and development.

Officials say the upcoming dialogue will build on past engagements and provide momentum to further strengthen coordination between the two close partners at a time of evolving regional and global challenges.
