Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi criticized Punjab’s government over his Lahore visit, calling the treatment humiliating. He wrote a letter to Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz demanding action. Afridi said administrative measures aimed to embarrass him, not mere oversight or accidents.
In the letter, Afridi said he visited Lahore as a representative of 40 million people. He claimed public areas, markets, and even motorway rest areas were unnecessarily closed, causing inconvenience to citizens. He added that social media campaigns linked him to drug smuggling, orchestrated under Punjab government oversight.

Afridi stressed the measures were deliberate, targeting his dignity and inter-provincial coordination. He demanded such tactics be avoided in the future. He also noted the letter will be kept for record, potentially for legal or constitutional action.
Previously, during a video-linked provincial cabinet meeting, Afridi described Punjab’s conduct as undemocratic. He alleged cabinet members were harassed and said the behavior reflected moral and mental decline. He called such actions harmful to national unity.
