Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Florida to meet US President Donald Trump on Sunday, aiming to negotiate a plan to end the nearly four-year-long war with Russia.
The talks will focus on the fate of Ukraine’s contested Donbas region, the future of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, and other critical issues, as Russian attacks continue to disrupt Kyiv and surrounding areas.

Russia recently launched hundreds of missiles and drones across Ukraine, knocking out power and heating in the capital. Zelenskyy called the strikes a response to US-brokered peace efforts and a demonstration of Moscow’s unwillingness to compromise.
Zelenskyy and Trump will discuss a 20-point peace plan, derived from prior Russian-led proposals, with Ukraine seeking to freeze current battle lines while the US suggests economic incentives for any territorial concessions.

European allies, including Canada and the EU, continue to support Kyiv, emphasizing the importance of preserving Ukraine’s sovereignty and security. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney pledged additional financial aid, while European leaders reinforced the call for a just and lasting peace.
The Ukrainian president said he would update European leaders after his meeting with Trump, underscoring the delicate balancing act between maintaining international support and negotiating a potential ceasefire with Moscow.
