Ross Duffer also confirmed that the series finale, Stranger Things: The Finale — The Rightside Up, has been extended to two hours and eight minutes. This marks a slight increase from the previously announced runtime and makes it the longest episode in the show’s history.
Providing insight into the upcoming chapters, Duffer said Shock Jock picks up immediately after the Volume 1 finale, Sorcerer. He noted that writer Frank Darabont delivered an episode that is darker and more frightening than his earlier contribution to the season.
Speaking about Escape From Camazotz, Duffer revealed that director Shawn Levy returns to helm what he described as the biggest episode of Volume 2. He added that the performances in the episode consistently evoke strong emotional reactions during viewings.
The Bridge, co-directed by Levy and the Duffer Brothers, has been described as the most emotional installment of the season. Duffer hinted that fans would face a tense wait before the final chapter airs.
