Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that the verdict in the Toshakhana-II case has completely exposed the false image of the so-called “Sadiq and Ameen.” She stated that the stories of theft involving Zakat, charity, and alms by the PTI founder and “Pinky Peerni” are no longer hidden from anyone. It has now become crystal clear that the PTI founder’s objective in coming to power was not public service, but the business of expensive gifts and diamonds.
She remarked that Saturday stands as a deeply painful and embarrassing day for the nation. Under the guise of politics, the public was continuously misled. By branding others as thieves, robbers, and corrupt elements, a person was brought into power whose sole aim was not service to the country and nation, but personal interests, valuable gifts, and even the trading of diamonds.
Azma Bokhari said that the court verdict announced yesterday should be an eye-opener for all, especially for those who persistently portrayed a particular individual as “Sadiq and Ameen.” Today, the reality stands fully exposed as to how lies, misrepresentation, and fake documents were used to justify the Bani Gala property under the false claim of honesty and trustworthiness.
She said that the revelations brought to light through the verdict are clear proof that the individual presented as a symbol of moral superiority kept making claims of reforming Toshakhana rules, while in practice setting the worst examples of dishonesty. Valuing gifts worth Rs. 70 million at merely Rs. 5.8 million, indulging in under-invoicing, and breaching national trust represent the peak of fraud and deception.
The Minister said that for those accustomed to embezzling Zakat and charity funds, the Toshakhana is hardly a challenge. A person who can run a political party through fake accounts and foreign funding, and divert charitable donations into personal and offshore companies, would naturally see no issue in trading valuable gifts after coming into power.
She added that the nation has not forgotten the audio in which Bushra Bibi is allegedly heard instructing that gifts received from Toshakhana should not be officially recorded and should be quietly transferred to the Prime Minister House. These are not mere allegations, but undeniable facts that have now surfaced through a court verdict.
Azma Bokhari further said that this is the same individual and the same party that for years labeled political opponents-particularly her leadership-as thieves and robbers. Mian Nawaz Sharif was subjected to a prolonged media trial over a so-called notional salary, yet today, divine justice stands evident before the nation. Those against whom nothing was proven were disgraced, while the person facing allegations of lies, theft, concealment, and dishonesty was forcibly portrayed as “Sadiq and Ameen.”
She concluded by saying that this day should mark a positive turning point in Pakistan’s politics. There should be no more space for deception, lies, and thieves in political life. Politics must focus on providing relief to the people, improving their lives, and steering the country towards progress-rather than treating power as a personal treasury for hoarding diamonds.
