Basant 2026: Lahore Sets Registration Fees for Kite Makers

The Lahore district administration has announced registration fees for kite makers, string manufacturers, and kite flying associations ahead of Basant.

Officials fixed the fee for kite and string manufacturers at Rs1,000. This step aims to regulate festival activities and ensure safety.

The registration fee for Kite Flying Associations has been set at Rs5,000. Authorities said this will formally regulate organized kite flying.

Form A will be used for registering kite makers and string manufacturers. Meanwhile, Form C will register Kite Flying Associations.

The Punjab government has allowed Basant celebrations in Lahore from February 6 to 8. Safety and administrative compliance will be mandatory.

District officials emphasized that registration is crucial to ensure a controlled and culturally vibrant Basant festival. Preparations are in full swing.

Meetings led by Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb highlighted safety measures. Fireworks will be at designated locations, and motorcycles will have safety rods installed.
