Global leaders eye seat on Trump’s Gaza peace board

Published on: December 11, 2025 3:49 PM

US President Donald Trump announced that the list of world leaders selected for the Gaza Board of Peace will be revealed early next year. He stated that numerous presidents, prime ministers, and kings have expressed interest in joining the board, which was formed under a Gaza plan aimed at stabilizing the region. Moreover, he emphasized that the board is attracting strong global attention due to its influential role.

During an economic event at the White House, Trump said the board was created to support a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. He added that the final announcement will mark an important moment in the region’s rebuilding efforts. Furthermore, he described the board as potentially “legendary” because of the high-level leaders eager to participate.

A United Nations Security Council resolution adopted on November 17 officially authorized the Board of Peace. It also approved the formation of a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) to operate in Gaza. Additionally, the resolution outlined how the board and participating nations will help maintain stability during the transition period.

The resolution explained that the Board of Peace will coordinate funding and create a clear framework for Gaza’s redevelopment. It will follow Trump’s 20-point peace plan, which guides reconstruction and administrative reforms. Consequently, the board will function as a transitional authority responsible for directing humanitarian, economic, and structural recovery.

According to the resolution, the board will remain active until the Palestinian Authority completes its reform program. Once the PA is deemed capable of securely and effectively taking control of Gaza again, the board’s responsibilities will be transferred. Until then, it will continue managing redevelopment efforts and ensuring progress toward long-term stability.
