CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir urges Ulema to foster unity

 Ulema to foster unity

ISLAMABAD – Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir urged Ulema to foster national unity. He emphasized broadening the vision of the people during his address at the National Ulema and Mashaikh Conference.

The CDF said that in an Islamic state, only the state can declare jihad. He highlighted that Pakistan emerged victorious in Marka-e-Haq with Allah’s blessings.

Field Marshal Asim Munir described the defence agreement with Saudi Arabia as historic. He added that Pakistan has a special connection with the State of Tayyiba. “Pakistan is the guardian of the Haramain among Muslim countries,” he said.

The CDF stressed that terrorism is India’s practice, not Pakistan’s. He added that Pakistan confronts enemies openly, not from hiding. He also highlighted the importance of education. “A nation abandoning knowledge and the pen becomes vulnerable to chaos,” he stated.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the conference, saying Pakistan cannot achieve sustainable economic growth without eliminating terrorism, extremism, and sectarianism. He urged religious scholars to promote unity and brotherhood across all schools of thought.

The PM praised the armed forces’ professionalism and bravery in the Marka-e-Haq. He said all services, including the Army, Air Force, and Navy, contributed equally. He noted that the world and Muslim nations acknowledged Pakistan’s performance and victory.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that national unity is essential for tackling challenges and achieving long-term stability. He called for collective hard work, austerity measures, and dedication to fulfill Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision for Pakistan.
