Australia beats Pakistan to win T20 Over-40 World Cup

Australia defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets to win the T20 Over-40 World Cup 2025 at Karachi’s National Stadium. Pakistan set a target of 151 runs after batting first. The final showcased competitive cricket but ended in Australia’s favor.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat, scoring 150 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Nadim Javed scored 24 runs, Fawad Alam added 24, and Abdul Razzaq contributed 19. Despite these efforts, Australia’s Mark Cleary took 5 wickets for just 22 runs, restricting Pakistan’s scoring opportunities effectively.

Chasing 151, Australia built a solid partnership with Steve Nattal scoring 47 off 40 balls. Steven Paulsen supported with 42 runs from 34 balls. In the final overs, Nasir Jaleel’s quick 25 off 10 balls sealed Australia’s victory comfortably.

The match highlighted strong performances from both teams but Australia dominated in key moments. Fawad Alam was Pakistan’s best bowler, taking 2 wickets for 16 runs. Overall, the final was marked by tactical play, disciplined bowling, and aggressive batting from Australia.

The tournament featured 12 international teams playing 42 matches across Karachi. Australia’s win marked their first T20 Over-40 World Cup title. The event boosted senior cricket popularity and demonstrated competitive spirit among veteran players.
