FCCU honours 1,270 graduates at annual convocation ceremony

Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) proudly held its Commencement 2025 on Saturday, celebrating the academic achievements of this year’s graduating class. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for 1,270 graduates, comprising 987 bachelor’s, 270 postgraduate, and 13 PhD degree recipients across a wide range of academic disciplines.

The event was attended by faculty, staff, distinguished guests, alumni, and the families of graduating students. Dr Jonathan S. Addleton, Rector of FCCU, presided over the ceremony, while Dr. Nayer Fardows served as the Director of Commencement 2025. The ceremony was graced by His Excellency, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Governor of the Punjab, who honored the gathering as the Chief Guest.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the valedictory address, delivered by Ms Noor Ul Ain, representing the undergraduate class, the valedictorian reflected on the transformative journey at FCCU and expressed deep gratitude to the University’s faculty, mentors, and family members for their unwavering support.

The ceremony featured the presentation of several prestigious academic and co-curricular awards, including medals for academic excellence, Certificates of Distinction, Roll of Honor awards, and departmental recognitions acknowledging outstanding student performance and contributions.

In his address, Rector Dr. Jonathan S. Addleton highlighted the centrality of hope and faith as guiding principles in the lives of graduates. He encouraged students to approach the future with resilience, optimism, and a commitment to service, underscoring FCCU’s enduring mission to cultivate ethical and community-minded citizens.

Addressing the graduates, the Governor of the Punjab reflected on FCCU’s 160-year legacy, commending its longstanding role in nurturing individuals who have shaped Pakistan’s intellectual and social landscape. He emphasized that the Class of 2025 now becomes part of this proud heritage, urging graduates to take initiative, embrace responsibility, and recognize that consistent, purposeful effort shapes meaningful destinies.

The ceremony also celebrated FCCU’s rich institutional heritage. Founded in 1864, Forman Christian College has grown into one of Pakistan’s premier universities, serving nearly 10,000 students and remaining deeply committed to its motto, “By love serve one another.” The institution continues to foster academic excellence, leadership, and a spirit of service among its students.

As the graduates of the Class of 2025 embark on the next chapter of their lives, the Commencement Ceremony stood as a tribute to their dedication, hard work, and achievements-reflecting FCCU’s longstanding commitment to preparing capable, ethical, and compassionate leaders for Pakistan and the global community.
