The FIR alleges that Rehman, along with other social media influencers, promoted gambling and betting apps such as Binomo, 1xBet, Bet 365, and B9 Game on his YouTube channel for personal monetary gain. According to the complaint, members of the public invested money into these platforms and suffered financial losses.
The FIR included 27 video links from Rehman’s channel, although several have since been removed. Rehman had previously applied for bail in the district and sessions court as well as before a judicial magistrate, but his requests were denied, prompting his high court petition.

Earlier this month, the LHC issued notices to the NCCIA for submission of arguments regarding his bail application. Rehman contended that he was never formally served a notice prior to his arrest.

The case has also seen controversy within the investigating agency. At the end of October, nine NCCIA officers were booked for allegedly misusing their authority, extorting money from Rehman, and accepting bribes. The court’s decision to grant bail is now expected to allow further legal proceedings while the investigation continues.
