Published on: November 14, 2025 2:06 AM

Systems Limited, in collaboration with Microsoft, IBM, AWS, Temenos, Formpipe and Dell Technologies – Awan distribution, hosted the 14th edition of the Bank of the Future Forum (BOFF) – most influential and anticipated event of Pakistan’s banking industry. For over thirteen successful editions, the forum has brought together visionaries, policymakers, financial institutions, and technology providers to shape the future of banking. It continues to serve as a premier platform for decision-makers of the banking and tech industry to engage in meaningful dialogue, explore breakthrough innovations, and forge strategic partnerships that drive industry-wide progress.

This year’s forum, themed “Reimagining the Future of Banking with AI,” focused on how artificial intelligence is transforming the financial landscape. From reengineering core systems and enabling intelligent automation to revolutionizing digital experiences and payment systems, the event explored how AI is driving modernization across the banking ecosystem.

The day commenced with opening remarks by Ammara Masood, GM Global BFS at Systems Limited, setting the tone for an insightful day of discussions around the role of AI in shaping next-generation banking. The inaugural keynote was delivered by Jameel Ahmed, Governor, State Bank of Pakistan, who outlined SBP’s vision for guiding the financial sector’s transition towards an AI-driven future. His remarks highlighted the regulator’s commitment to enabling innovation while ensuring financial stability, security, and inclusion.

In a powerful keynote, Asif Peer, CEO & Managing Director, Systems Limited, shared how AI is redefining every aspect of banking; from customer engagement and operational efficiency to risk management and innovation. This was followed by a compelling session by Jawad Khan, Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, on how global banks are leveraging AI to drive scalable growth and operational excellence.

A highlight of the event was the CEO Panel Discussion moderated by Asif Akram, COO, Systems Limited, featuring Nassir Saleem CEO, HBL; Hamayun Sajjad, CEO, Mashreq and Syed Amir, Deputy CEO, Meezan Bank. The discussion explored how leading banks are reimagining business models, advancing financial inclusion, and embracing AI to build a resilient banking ecosystem.
