Punjab authorities have issued a high-level security alert for colleges across the province. All institutions must enforce single-gate entry and strict bag checks. Surveillance, CCTV, and compliance reports are now mandatory.
The Higher Education Department directed colleges to close all gates except one main entrance. Security teams must thoroughly inspect all bags and vehicles entering campuses. Walk-through gates and metal detectors are required to prevent dangerous items from being brought inside.

Students and staff must carry identity cards at all times, while vehicles without official stickers are barred from entering. Colleges must also secure boundaries with barbed wire and improve lighting in corridors, walkways, and open areas during night hours.
Institutions are required to install CCTV cameras covering gates, hallways, parking zones, and vulnerable spots, monitored 24/7. Security personnel should be increased according to student numbers to ensure proper patrolling and supervision.

Colleges must also install fire extinguishers and alarms and conduct emergency training for teachers and students. Evacuation drills, awareness sessions, and safety briefings are now compulsory to handle urgent threats. College principals must submit detailed reports within seven days for authorities to assess compliance and address gaps immediately.
