Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar said cowardly attacks will never weaken Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism. He spoke at the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference in Islamabad on Wednesday. Dar highlighted recent terrorist incidents, including the Islamabad suicide blast and the attack on Cadet College Wana, as reminders of the ongoing threat.
Dar said the attacks reaffirm Pakistan’s belief that dialogue, understanding, and partnership are the only sustainable ways to ensure peace. “These acts will not shake our national resolve,” he said. He added that Pakistan continues to oppose terrorism in all forms, whether domestic or international. The minister expressed sympathy for the families of the 15 victims killed in the last 48 hours.

He called terrorism one of the major global challenges of our time. “Pakistan has been a bulwark against a menace that ignores boundaries, religion, gender, ethnicity, or race,” Dar said. The minister emphasized that national security requires unity among all stakeholders to counter this persistent threat.
The suicide blast in Islamabad was the first in the capital in nearly three years, occurring amid international events including the 6th Margalla Dialogue and the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference. A tri-nation cricket series featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe was also underway in nearby Rawalpindi. Officials said the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility.

Security sources confirmed that all militants involved in the Cadet College Wana attack were killed. Analysts note that terrorism has increased in KP and Balochistan since TTP ended its ceasefire in November 2022. Dar’s remarks reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to fighting terrorism decisively while pursuing dialogue for long-term peace.
