Cadet College Wana Attack Foiled

Published on: November 10, 2025 8:12 PM

Security forces stopped a Cadet College Wana attack in South Waziristan on Monday. A suicide bomber exploded himself at the college’s main gate. The blast injured six civilians. However, security personnel quickly responded and blocked the attackers from entering the campus.

Authorities stated that the attack was carried out by terrorists linked to the banned TTP. The bomber attempted to enter the college, but guards stopped him. Security teams then launched a clearance operation. Initial reports suggest that four to five attackers were killed during the gun battle. Their attempt to cause mass harm failed due to the quick action of security forces.

Officials said the terrorists wanted to repeat an attack similar to the 2014 Army Public School tragedy. That attack killed 147 people, including schoolchildren. The goal of today’s attackers was to create fear and target young students again. But security forces neutralized the threat before large-scale damage could occur.

Pakistan has seen a rise in terror attacks over the past year. Most incidents happened in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The situation worsened after TTP ended its ceasefire in 2022. Since then, the group has targeted police, security agencies and government offices. In April, a blast at a peace committee office in South Waziristan killed at least seven people.

Authorities continue the clearance operation around the college. Parents and locals demand stronger protection for educational institutions. Security forces promised to stay alert and keep schools safe. The government also vowed to defeat terrorism and prevent another Cadet College Wana attack.
