Islamabad – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Saifullah Abro resigned from the Senate on Monday after supporting the 27th Amendment. He said he voted in favor because of Field Marshal Asim Munir and his leadership. Abro emphasized that his decision reflected his personal principles and loyalty to Pakistan’s institutions.
During his speech, Abro praised Pakistan’s victories in past conflicts and highlighted Munir’s recognition abroad. He noted that former US President Trump honored the Field Marshal in unprecedented ways. He said such respect underscored the importance of supporting strong national leadership in Pakistan.

Abro also criticized political opponents, claiming they repeated actions once carried out by former leaders. He added that PTI’s future government would continue similar policies under leaders like Barrister Ali Zafar. He urged members to focus on national priorities rather than personal agendas.
The senator recalled his hardships during the 26th Amendment process. He said his wife was arrested and ten family members were detained. He criticized PTI members for not raising their voice on his family’s behalf. These experiences influenced his decision to resign from the Senate.
