
JAKARTA – Indonesian police discovered possible explosive powder while investigating a series of explosions at a mosque in Jakarta that injured dozens during Friday prayers. Authorities identified a 17-year-old student as the suspected perpetrator.
Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo said investigators found several pieces of evidence, including written materials and powder that could have potentially caused the explosions. Authorities are also reviewing social media activity and questioning family members to gather more information.

The suspected student, who attends a school adjacent to the mosque, underwent surgery on Friday and is reportedly recovering. Police indicated that the suspect’s improving condition may aid the investigation.
