Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Ghani Lahore School Cricket Cup 2025. The tournament aims to promote cricket at the school level. Eight top school teams participated in the opening ceremony. Naqvi met the young players and encouraged them to perform their best. He praised the Ghani Institute of Cricket and the organizing team for hosting the event successfully.
During the event, Naqvi emphasized the importance of talent development. He told players to stay disciplined and focused on the game. The chairman announced cash prizes for the best performers. The best batter, bowler, all-rounder, and wicketkeeper will each receive awards. He added that recognizing young talent motivates players to excel. The winners of the tournament will receive Rs10 lakh, while the runner-up will get Rs5 lakh. This reward system aims to encourage healthy competition among students.
The semi-finals and final matches will take place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. This provides young players the chance to experience professional-level cricket facilities. Naqvi highlighted that such exposure boosts players’ confidence and prepares them for higher competitions. He encouraged coaches to guide students both on and off the field. The event also strengthens community support for school cricket programs.
