At least 18 terrorists were killed in two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Thursday. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants belonged to the Indian-backed network Fitna al Hindustan. The operations targeted terrorist hideouts in Quetta and Kech districts following credible intelligence of militant presence in the areas.
The first operation took place in the Chiltan mountain range in Quetta, where troops engaged militants after an intense exchange of fire. Fourteen terrorists were killed during the clash, ISPR confirmed. In a separate operation in Buleda, Kech district, security forces raided a hideout and neutralised four more militants. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the sites, the statement added.

ISPR said that sanitisation efforts were underway to clear any remaining militants in the region. It added that the counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision would continue at full pace. The military reaffirmed its determination to eliminate all forms of foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan. Officials stressed that the operations were part of a broader effort to ensure lasting peace and security in Balochistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their “unwavering resolve and bravery.” He said the entire nation stood firmly with the armed forces in their war against terrorism. “The government remains fully committed to eradicating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the prime minister stated.
