18 terrorists killed in Balochistan

Published on: October 30, 2025 10:39 AM

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 18 terrorists in two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Quetta and Kech districts of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants were associated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan, which the state has designated to highlight India’s alleged involvement in sponsoring terrorism across Pakistan.

The first operation was launched in the Chiltan mountain range near Quetta on the basis of intelligence reports. “During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, 14 Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the ISPR said.

In a separate IBO conducted in Buleda, Kech district, four more militants were killed and their hideout destroyed. Security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site. The statement added that the killed terrorists were actively involved in multiple attacks in the region.

The ISPR further stated that sanitisation operations were underway to eliminate remaining threats, reaffirming the armed forces’ resolve to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.

Pakistan has witnessed a surge in militant attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in 2022. Just a day earlier, six soldiers, including a captain, were martyred and seven terrorists killed during an operation in Kurram district.
