Israeli strikes kill 91 in Gaza; Trump says ceasefire unthreatened

Published on: October 29, 2025 4:12 PM

Israeli forces launched airstrikes on Gaza City’s residential areas, killing 91 Palestinians, including 24 children. Many others were trapped under rubble. The attacks followed orders from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after a firefight in Rafah. Israel claimed one of its soldiers died in the exchange. Hospitals in Gaza are overwhelmed, and residents fear more attacks.

Medical sources reported that the strikes violated the US-mediated ceasefire. Despite the casualties, President Donald Trump called the attacks a “retaliatory action” and insisted the ceasefire remains safe. He added that Hamas must act responsibly to prevent escalation. Meanwhile, human rights experts condemned Israel’s moves, saying these actions worsen civilian suffering.

Experts say Israel intentionally delays aid and rubble-clearing operations. This, they argue, weakens the ceasefire and prolongs civilian hardships. Additionally, the strikes sparked fear across Gaza, with people rushing to shelters and hospitals struggling to handle the casualties. Many families lost multiple members in single attacks.

One strike killed 18 members of the same family, erasing three generations. Children, parents, and grandparents were among the victims. The city’s skies were filled with warplanes, drones, and explosions, intensifying fear. Residents say the attacks reminded them of the early weeks of Israel’s October 2023 offensive, when destruction was widespread.

Overall, Gaza faces growing humanitarian challenges. Food, medical aid, and shelter remain scarce, while fear grips communities. Observers question whether the ceasefire can endure, as ongoing tensions between Israel and Hamas threaten stability. International attention and diplomatic efforts remain critical to prevent further escalation.
