PM Shehbaz meets MBS to boost Pakistan-Saudi ties

RIYADH – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman on Monday in Riyadh. The leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations, expanding trade, and exploring new investment opportunities in multiple sectors.

Mohammed Bin Salman reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to deepening ties with Pakistan. Both sides emphasized collaboration in energy, trade, technology, infrastructure, and industrial development. They also agreed to maintain high-level contacts and explore joint ventures in renewable energy and industrial zones.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Conference, which brings together global investors, business leaders, and policymakers. Delegations from both countries attended, underlining shared interest in economic cooperation, investment promotion, and strategic partnership.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s delegation included Army Chief General Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar. Special Assistants Tariq Fatemi and Bilal Bin Saqib joined to advise on foreign policy, investment deals, and international collaborations.

Upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport, the prime minister was warmly received by Riyadh’s Deputy Governor Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Rahman, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malki, and Pakistan’s Ambassador Ahmad Farooq. The visit highlights Pakistan’s focus on attracting Saudi investment in energy, infrastructure, IT, and industrial projects while strengthening bilateral diplomacy.
