The Punjab Finance Department on Monday released an amount of Rs76 million for the payment of salaries to the Governor and expenditure.
According to media reports, Rs189 million has also been released for the salaries of the staff of the Governor’s Secretariat.
The Finance Ministry has released Rs 250 million for the boxing championship. The Punjab Finance Department released this amount to the Punjab Department of Sports. The Finance department already transferred these amounts online to their respective accounts.
Punjab govt okays Rs 65,000 stipend for college teaching interns
The Punjab government on Monday approved the college teaching interns project under which an amount of Rs 4.217 billion has been allocated for giving stipends, ranging from Rs55,000 to Rs 65,000 per month, to 8,000 college teaching interns in the province.
Under the project, Rs 55,000 will be given to an intern teaching at an intermediate level, while the one teaching at the graduate level will be given Rs65,000 per month. These interns will also be issued experience certificates at the end of their internships.
As many as 404 seats have been reserved for minorities, 243 for the disabled, and 40 for members of the transgender community.
An alarming situation for the schools, having less than 100 number of students as 2,500 more such schools will be given on contract in December under the Phase-III.
So far, 10,000 schools have been outsourced, while 13,000 schools have to be outsourced by the year-end. As many as 5,863 schools were given on contract in Phase-I, while 4,453 in Phase-II.
