Sindh leaders, police join Kashmir solidarity rallies

Published on: October 28, 2025 1:05 AM

A ‘Youm-e-Siyah’ (Black Day) Rally was held at Mazar-e-Quaid on Monday, organized by the Karachi administration, to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Provincial Minister Local Government and HPT Nasir Hussain Shah led the rally,

Speaking at the event, Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that October 27, 1947, is a dark day in history when India attacked on Kashmir and occupied Kashmir, violating the principles of partition and against the will of the Kashmiri people.

He said that the people of Pakistan stand with their Kashmiri brothers, and their hearts beat for them. He added that Kashmir’s freedom is the right of its people, and Pakistan’s government and people support the Kashmiri people.

Shah praised Chairman Bilawal Bhutto for raising a strong voice for Kashmir’s freedom on the international forum and playing a historic role in shaping global public opinion.

He said that Pakistan’s foreign policy is clear, and Field Marshal Asim Munir, President Asif Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have effectively supported the Kashmiri people on the global platform and urged world leaders to play their part for the independence of Kashmir.

Shah stated that on Youm-e-Siyah, the entire Pakistani nation stands with their Kashmiri brothers in their struggle and reaffirms its unwavering support.

He said that the Pakistani nation will continue to support its Kashmiri brothers until they achieve their right to self-determination, as per UN Charter and Security Council resolutions. The rally was attended among others by Provincial Minister Auqaf Riaz Sherazi, Additional Commissioner Karachi Ghulam Mehdi Shah, Deputy Mayor Salman Murad, Hurriyat Conference leader Sheikh Abdul Mateen Butt, district administration officials, Municipal Commissioner Afzal Zaidi, and a large number of school students.

The rally started from People’s Secretariat and ended at Mazar-e-Quaid Azam.

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, in his message on the occasion of Kashmir Black Day to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir, said that October 27 is the dark day in history when Indian forces unleashed oppression and tyranny on the people of Kashmir.

He said that on Kashmir Black Day, we pay tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people. This day reaffirms our commitment that we will never abandon the oppressed people of Kashmir.

Mayor Karachi said that oppression is always temporary, but the struggle for freedom is eternal. He strongly condemned India’s state-sponsored terrorism and brutalities, adding that the Kashmiri people have proved through their sacrifices that they will never give up their right to self-determination.

He urged the international community to take immediate notice of the grave human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and to ensure the implementation of United Nations resolutions.

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the courage and determination of the Kashmiri people are an example for oppressed nations across the world. The people of Pakistan today are expressing complete solidarity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

He expressed confidence that a day will surely come when the Kashmiri people will be granted their right to self-determination in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.

Mayor Karachi further stated that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan, and Pakistan is incomplete without it. The Pakistani nation stands firmly with the Kashmiri people at every step, and our moral, political, and diplomatic support will continue until the freedom of Kashmir is achieved. He also paid tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir and expressed solidarity with their families.

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Kashmir Black Day, observed every year on October 27.

He said in his message that October 27 is not merely a date on the calendar, but a solemn reminder of decades of suffering, resilience, and unyielding courage of the Kashmiri people. He said that for over seven decades, men, women, and children in occupied Kashmir have borne the weight of occupation, suppression, and injustice, yet their spirit remains unbroken.

The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pointed out that since India’s unilateral revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019, the valley has endured unprecedented restrictions on movement, communication, and assembly.

He condemned the unabated atrocities including fake encounters, custodial torture, extrajudicial killings, and enforced disappearances that have turned the region into an open-air prison.

He urged the international community to act with conscience, uphold human rights, and ensure the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions.

Reaffirming his party’s historic stance, Bilawal said that the PPP, following the vision of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Kashmir until their dream of freedom and justice becomes a reality.
