Alexandra Kay is keeping out of the Keith Urban and Maggie Baugh narrative.
Amid the “Wild Hearts” singer’s ongoing divorce with Nicole Kidman – with whom he shares daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14-Alexandra revealed whether there is a romance going on between him and the guitarist.
“I know that’s absolutely not true,” Alexandra told Taste of Country in an Oct. 22 interview. “Honestly, I was heartbroken for them because the media scrutiny is insane and the things that people say… They’re like, stirring up rumors about Maggie Baugh and I’m like, ‘She’s a good friend of mine.'”
Indeed, the “How Do We Go” singer revealed that her pal is actually in a relationship with someone else, emphasizing she has “nothing” to do with Nicole and Keith’s fall out. “I’ve met her boyfriend,” Alexandra continued. “She’s very happy.”
For his part, Keith stirred up speculation shortly after his separation from the Big Little Lies star-to whom he’s been married for 19 years-was confirmed. During a concert last month, the 57-year-old changed the lyrics to “The Fighter,” a song widely considered to be about his romance with Nicole, to instead shout out his guitarist, who was on stage with him.
Instead of singing, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” Keith crooned in a video Maggie shared to Instagram Sept. 27, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
Alongside the moment, Maggie gushed in the clip, “Did he just say that?”
However, amid his High and Alive tour, Keith shut down that there was any deeper meaning in his recent performances, slamming fans who read into him changing the lyrics of his other song “You’ll Think of Me.”
“I’ve been covering like this for a long time,” he told the crowd at a Nashville concert Oct. 17. “Stop reading s–t into it.”
