
A two-week joint military exercise between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, named Dostarym-V, concluded at Cherat on Saturday. The counter-terrorism drill aimed to enhance coordination, tactical skills, and operational readiness between the two friendly countries. It also highlighted the growing military cooperation and shared commitment to regional peace.
The closing ceremony was held at the Special Operations School in Cherat. The Commandant of the school served as the chief guest, while Kazakhstan’s Ambassador and Defence Attaché also attended. The ceremony marked the successful completion of rigorous training sessions that brought together elite forces from both nations.

The exercise began on October 14 and featured combat teams from Pakistan’s Special Services Group and Kazakhstan’s Special Forces. Troops demonstrated outstanding professionalism, discipline, and teamwork during the drills. The training covered urban combat, hostage rescue, and counter-terrorism techniques designed to enhance field performance.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise helped refine procedures, drills, and operational strategies in counter-terrorism operations. It also fostered greater understanding and coordination between the two armies, paving the way for future cooperation. The exchange of experiences contributed to mutual learning and professional development.
