ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins on Thursday to discuss ways to strengthen Pakistan-Australia cooperation in multiple sectors, including coast guard operations, border management, and combating human trafficking.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration on security and migration issues. The Australian envoy expressed condolences over recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan that claimed the lives of police and security personnel.

Neil Hawkins praised Minister Naqvi’s leadership in urban development and welfare projects, particularly noting the transformation of Islamabad and the restoration of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. He also shared personal reflections on his time in Pakistan, calling his visit to Lahore’s shrine of Bibi Pak Daman “a memorable experience.”

Minister Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to discouraging illegal immigration while promoting safe and legal migration channels. He warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in human trafficking and illegal migration networks.
