ISLAMABAD — President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday said Pakistan will never compromise on its national interests, sovereignty, and security, urging Afghanistan’s leadership to take firm action against terrorist groups attacking Pakistan from across the border.
He said terrorist attacks from Afghan soil by the Khwarij network have been confirmed by UN reports and that Pakistan has shared evidence of the nexus between Indian elements and these militants.

“Pakistan has always supported Afghanistan — hosting refugees for over four decades and promoting trade and peace,” Zardari said. “But Pakistan’s patience should not be mistaken for weakness.”
He added that India’s illegal claims on Jammu and Kashmir violate international law and UN resolutions, and expressed regret over what he called Afghanistan’s silence on the oppression of Kashmiris.

Zardari stressed that terrorism is a shared regional challenge, and both nations must work together for peace, stability, and development.
He concluded that lasting peace in the region depends on mutual respect, security cooperation, and a joint fight against terrorism.
