In yet another groundbreaking step towards women’s empowerment, the Sindh Government has rolled out its landmark Pink EV Scooty Distribution Program, led by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon under the vision and leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Under this historic initiative, 200 women from across Sindh – including students, teachers, doctors, dentists, salon workers, athletes, and other professionals – were handed over electric scooters, helmets, free registration, and professional training to ensure safe and independent mobility. The scheme, which will eventually distribute 1,000 scooters in total, marks a major stride toward gender equality and green transportation in the province.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s commitment to women’s empowerment was reflected in the ceremony, which celebrated not just mobility but dignity, independence, and environmental responsibility. “This is not just about transport – it is about freedom. We are investing in women’s futures, giving them the tools to study, work, and thrive,” said the Chairman in his message.
Sindh has already taken the lead in women-friendly transport initiatives, being the first province to launch the Pink Women’s Bus Service, which has transformed daily commutes for thousands of female passengers. The Pink EV Scooty initiative builds on that success, furthering Sindh’s mission to provide safe, eco-friendly, and affordable transport options for women.
The atmosphere at the distribution ceremony was charged with excitement as women from Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, and other districts of Sindh proudly received their keys. Participants shared how this initiative would help them attend universities, reach workplaces, and support their families with independence and confidence.
“This scooty will save me hours of travel every week. It gives me confidence that I can go anywhere, anytime, without depending on anyone,” said Sana, a young student from Hyderabad.
The Sindh Government has promised continued support and expansion of the program until all 1,000 scooters are delivered, reaffirming its commitment to create a gender-equal and progressive province.
With the Pink Scooty Revolution, Sindh is not just giving away vehicles – it is giving women the freedom to move, to dream, and to lead.
