Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty and congratulated the people of Sahiwal on the operationalization of the first-ever Institute of Cardiology in the division.
In a message on social networking platform ‘X,’ on Tuesday, the CM said that the Institute’s first Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) has been completed in a record few months and is already functional, with the first five procedures underway.
The CM added that cardiac surgeons will begin visiting Sahiwal from next week, ensuring that patients will no longer need to travel long distances to Lahore for cardiac surgeries and advanced treatment.
CM Maryam Nawaz said the new institute marked a milestone in expanding specialized healthcare facilities and would significantly benefit the people of Sahiwal division.
Separately, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif congratulated Saudi leadership and people on Saudi Arabia’s National Day. She said, “Congratulations from the people of Punjab to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.” She added that Pakistan shares Saudi Arabia’s happiness on its National Day. Saudi Arabia is not just a friend of Pakistan, but a place of love and devotion for every Muslim.
Chief Minister noted that Pakistan has also achieved the status of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques after the recent defense agreement between KSA and Pakistan. She said, “I am grateful to the Saudi leadership and people for their full support to Pakistan in difficult times.”
On Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directions, 44 additional machines have been dispatched to seal a breach in Noor Raja Bhutta flood embankment in Lodhran. All officers of Irrigation Department remained present at the site to oversee breach sealing work. The process of filling the breach with stones and soil using trucks was completed swiftly.
On Chief Minister’s directions, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Provincial Minister for Irrigation were assigned the task to oversee emergency operation at the site. She received continuous updates regarding special operation to seal the breach in a short period of time.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Shaikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Al-Shaikh. The chief minister said that delivering the most number of Hajj sermons was a distinctive honour of the late Grand Mufti, adding that pilgrims would continue to feel his absence for a long time.
