Karachi: Pakistan has decided to keep its airspace closed to Indian aircraft for one more month, extending an earlier restriction amid ongoing regional tensions.
According to a new NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued by the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA), the ban now remains in effect until October 23, 2025. The move applies to all Indian aircraft attempting to enter or transit through Pakistani airspace.
The restriction was originally enforced on April 23, following the escalation of hostilities between India and Pakistan. Since then, the ban has been extended multiple times.
This continued closure has disrupted regional flight routes, forcing Indian airlines to reroute around Pakistani territory, increasing flight times and operational costs.
Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours remain high, and the airspace decision reflects the ongoing diplomatic and military strain in the region. Pakistan has not yet indicated when the ban might be permanently lifted.
