On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the rescue and relief operation of Punjab Police continues in flood-affected areas. In continuation of this operation, so far 709,427 affected citizens have been shifted to safe places, while 628,918 livestock of flood victims have also been moved to safety.
More than 16,000 officers and personnel, 770 vehicles, and 40 boats of Punjab Police are participating in the rescue and relief operation.
From the flood-affected areas, 281,531 men, 230,518 women, and 197,378 children have been rescued so far.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that during the rescue and relief operation, Safe City thermal imaging technology and drone cameras are being used to ensure timely assistance for the victims. He further said that patrolling & surveillance in the flood-affected areas have also been increased.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 295,572 citizens have been rescued from Multan Region, while 198,032 citizens have been rescued from Dera Ghazi Khan Region. IG Punjab emphasized that the rescue and relief operation will continue until the last citizen is shifted to a safe location.
