Published on: September 12, 2025 9:05 AM

President Asif Ali Zardari has begun a 10-day Zardari China visit to strengthen ties with Beijing. He will meet Chinese leadership in Chengdu, Shanghai, and Xinjiang. The Foreign Office confirmed the invitation was extended by the Chinese government. His visit will focus on regional peace, trade cooperation, and future development plans. It highlights the importance of Pakistan-China friendship in the current regional context.

The agenda places special focus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Leaders will discuss new projects and future connectivity plans. They aim to expand investment and trade opportunities across sectors. CPEC remains central to Pakistan’s economic growth and infrastructure development. Both sides want to ensure long-term stability and stronger regional integration. These discussions also stress the strategic importance of Pakistan-China partnership.

In addition, the Zardari China visit will address security and peace in the region. Pakistan values China’s diplomatic role in global and regional stability. Both nations will also exchange views at multilateral platforms. Such cooperation strengthens their joint stance on international issues. Leaders will use this visit to reaffirm trust and shared security goals. This shows both countries’ commitment to peace beyond bilateral relations.

President Zardari will also engage with provincial leaders and businesses. Meetings in Chengdu, Shanghai, and Xinjiang will highlight trade, investment, and cultural cooperation. The goal is to strengthen ties beyond central governments. Such provincial interactions are seen as vital for long-term relations. They also create opportunities for people-to-people exchanges and local partnerships. These engagements help diversify and expand cooperation.

The Zardari China visit underscores the strong tradition of high-level exchanges between both countries. Pakistan and China remain committed to advancing CPEC and regional cooperation. This visit shows Islamabad’s priority to deepen ties with Beijing. It also reinforces mutual trust in political, economic, and security fields. The trip is a milestone in the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.
