Pilgrims who missed Hajj under the private scheme last year have been given another chance, as the Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended the registration deadline. The extension was announced due to disruptions caused by floods.
According to ministry sources, the Hajj portal is still open for registration. Initially, private scheme pilgrims were given until September 8 to register, but now the process has been extended. So far, around 21,000 pilgrims have completed their registrations. Officials urged those left out last year to benefit from this final opportunity.
The ministry confirmed that private operators will now accept new applications against the remaining quota. Pilgrims who had already deposited their money last year will be able to perform Hajj this year without paying any additional charges.
However, this facility will not apply to those who withdrew their deposited money last year. Such applicants will need to submit fresh applications under the new registration process.
