Army leads flood rescue: swift help saves lives

Published on: September 3, 2025 3:46 PM

The Pakistan Army is actively carrying out rescue and relief operations in flood-hit areas of Punjab, working closely with local authorities to ensure the safety of affected communities. Hundreds of people have already been evacuated from dangerous locations, and operations continue as floodwaters threaten several regions. Authorities are focusing on areas like Khoolra Point, Hasu Wali, Budhwana, Jhang, and Chiniot to provide immediate assistance and prevent further harm. The combined efforts aim to minimize damage and protect both people and livestock from rising waters.

Using boats, army personnel are rescuing stranded families, including women, children, and elderly individuals, from severely affected regions. Livestock is also being moved to safer ground, reflecting the comprehensive nature of the operations. These actions ensure that vulnerable groups receive timely help, while emergency teams remain on constant alert. Moreover, authorities are coordinating efforts to reach remote areas where floodwaters have isolated residents, ensuring that no one is left behind.

In addition to rescue operations, the Pakistan Army has established relief camps in critical locations, providing essentials such as food, clean clothing, and drinking water to displaced families. Volunteers and staff are working around the clock to maintain uninterrupted support, ensuring that the basic needs of flood victims are met. These camps serve as safe hubs where families can access relief while authorities continue evacuation and rescue missions in heavily flooded zones.

Free medical camps have been set up alongside relief centers, staffed by doctors and paramedical teams to deliver immediate healthcare to those affected. Patients receive treatment for injuries, waterborne diseases, and other health concerns caused by prolonged exposure to flood conditions. The medical teams also provide guidance on sanitation and preventive measures, helping communities reduce further health risks during this emergency situation.

Authorities continue to monitor flood-prone areas closely, staying ready to respond to any new emergencies as water levels fluctuate. Coordination between the army, civil administration, and local volunteers has strengthened the efficiency of rescue missions, ensuring faster relief delivery. Communities are encouraged to follow safety instructions and move to designated safe zones whenever required to avoid harm from unpredictable flood conditions.

Flood victims have expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, calling the army’s assistance a life-saving effort. Many families credit the quick response with saving their lives and preventing major losses of property and livestock. The ongoing operations highlight the importance of preparedness, coordination, and swift action in tackling natural disasters while protecting the most vulnerable members of society.
