
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon in Beijing on Tuesday, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen ties and expand collaboration across multiple sectors.
During the meeting, the leaders expressed satisfaction with ongoing cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, energy, and regional security, emphasizing the importance of further enhancing people-to-people exchanges and cultural links.
PM Shehbaz Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s interest in deepening economic partnerships with Tajikistan, while President Rahmon welcomed joint efforts to boost trade and explore new avenues for investment in both countries.
The leaders also discussed regional security challenges, agreeing on coordinated measures to promote stability and peace in Central and South Asia, while supporting initiatives for sustainable development and energy cooperation.
Both officials reiterated the significance of historical, cultural, and religious bonds that unite Pakistan and Tajikistan, stressing that these shared ties provide a strong foundation for future collaboration.
Finally, Shehbaz Sharif and Emomali Rahmon exchanged views on global issues of common concern, underlining the need for strengthened diplomatic engagement and mutual support on international platforms to address emerging challenges.
