A dangerous dacoit was killed in a police encounter in Muzaffargarh on Saturday. The suspect, involved in multiple cases of murder, robbery and attempted murder, was identified as Allah Ditta alias Kala Kharak. According to a police spokesperson, a joint operation was conducted by the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Khangarh and Saddar Muzaffargarh police in the Jhalarin area to arrest members of the Kala Kharak gang. Upon seeing the police, gang members opened indiscriminate fire. The police retaliated in self-defence. During the exchange, gang leader Allah Ditta alias Kala Kharak was injured by bullets allegedly fired by his own associates. He was arrested in an injured condition and shifted to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Two accomplices managed to escape into a nearby forest under the cover of darkness. The spokesperson added that Kala Kharak was wanted in seven serious cases and was considered a symbol of fear in the area. He had been accused of involvement in at least three murders in separate incidents.
